Aveiro

A small town located 80 km south of Porto, very beautiful and renowned for its art. It is often called "Portuguese Venice" due to its various channels of the Aveiro river, in the heart of the city.

Aveiro (Ílhavo) is also a city of preservation and transformation of cod, a fish very popular in Portugal.

Sweetmeats

"Soft eggs": Aveiro´s typical sweet, rich in flavor but also in calories. It is made of egg cream, prepared with egg yolk and sugar syrup (water, sugar, cinnamon, lemon) and mass coverage wafer.

This region is dominated by sparkling wines, given the existence of the production of such variety in many districts of Aveiro. "Berry" is the predominant grape variety in the production of sparkling wines.
